They are comparable and for example, in the case of Monster XBOX cables, the Chinese knock offs are actually better. And i also have cheap Chinese knock offs. I have great cables OEM/Monster/Psyclone etc.
Also don't worry too much about the price of the cables youre getting. I personally havent had any bad experiences using S-video/composite cables but i have heard people have had issues. What im told is the signal can bounce back to the composite line and cause some kind of issue. Like said above, and from what i understand, you do want to avoid S-Video cables that also have composite lines built in because it can cause signal issues.
